ABOUT ME

Robbin Zeff is an Assistant Professor of Writing and the Professional Technology Fellow in the University Writing Program at The George Washington University. She holds a doctorate in Folklore and American Studies from Indiana University and is a Teacher Consultant with the Northern Virginia Writing Project, one of the nation’s top professional development programs for writing teachers.

Robbin believes that in order to teach writing one needs to be a writer. Robbin is a multifaceted and prolific author having written five books and over 75 articles, book chapters, major research reports, and presentations. Her books have been translated into 8 languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Portuguese.

If you Googled Robbin, you’d find out about the books and articles she’s written, the conferences she’s produced, and the companies she’s founded. But you wouldn’t learn that:

  • She once spent three days at a temp job proofreading the telephone book
  • Taught writing in Siberia
  • And…she sold a pair of Levis jeans to Ralph Lauren
